Jason R. Braswell graduated from the University of Alabama-Birmingham with a B.S. with honors in biology research and received his J.D. with high honors from Chicago-Kent College of Law. He was admitted to practice law in Illinois in 2003, and spent his first six years of practice in the Chicago office of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, LLP, practicing in its litigation department.
Jason left Skadden and moved to Kailua-Kona to try his hand at entrepreneurship as the co-owner, along with his wife Melissa, of Big Island Running Company, which they built into a thriving running specialty store. In 2016, Jason decided to return to the practice of law, becoming admitted to practice in Hawaii and founding Law Offices of Jason R. Braswell, LLC.
Jason has extensive experience in litigation, representing clients ranging from Fortune 50 companies to indigent individuals. He also has experience in internal investigations, regulatory compliance and enforcement, alternative dispute resolution, and general corporate advice. Jason's experience as a small business owner has made him particularly sensitive to the challenges that small businesses face.
